Which paddle is best for a beginner?
A forgiving wide-body paddle with a fibreglass face, like the PDS Starter 14. Playing with a partner? The Starter Set has two paddles, four balls and a bag. Read the paddle guide or ask us in the chat.
Should I choose a 14 mm or a 16 mm core?
16 mm for control and a softer feel that is easier on the arm; 14 mm for more pop on drives. If you're not sure, 16 mm suits most players.
What grip size do I need?
Most adults use 4.125 to 4.25 in. When in doubt choose the smaller size and add an overgrip. See the size guide for how to measure.
Are your paddles approved for tournaments?
In this demo store, all PDS adult paddles are marked as USA Pickleball approved. The Junior 13 and the Wood Classic are not.
Indoor or outdoor balls?
Outdoor balls (40 small holes) are harder and handle wind better. Indoor balls (26 larger holes) are softer and slower on gym floors. Outdoor balls can crack sooner below about 50 °F (10 °C).
Can I use running shoes?
We don't recommend it. Running shoes are built for moving forward and can roll over on quick side steps. Court shoes keep your foot over the sole.
How much is shipping and how long does it take?
Free on orders over $49. Otherwise standard shipping is $6.99 and takes 2–5 business days.
Can I return a paddle after playing with it?
PDS paddles can be played and returned within 30 days if not modified (no grip change, edge tape, weighting tape or writing).
How do I return something?
Open the chat or email us with your order number. Unused items can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Free prepaid label for faulty or wrong items; otherwise $6.99 deducted from the refund.
When will I get my refund?
Refunds are made within 5 business days after we receive the return.
Can I exchange for another size?
Free exchange for another grip size, shoe size or apparel size within 30 days.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Yes, while it has not shipped. Orders ship the same or next business day, so contact us in the chat as soon as possible.
My item arrived damaged or wrong. What now?
Sorry about that. Send us your order number and a photo in the chat, and we'll send a replacement or a prepaid return label.
My paddle face is peeling or the paddle sounds dead. Is that covered?
Delamination, cracks and handle failure are manufacturing defects covered by our warranty. Face wear, scratches, core crush and damage from hitting the ground are not. Send us photos and your order number in the chat.
My edge guard is peeling. What can I do?
If the paddle is new, contact us: that can be a defect. Otherwise PDS Edge Guard Tape covers a worn guard; choose 5/8 in for 14 mm cores and 1 in for 16 mm cores.
How often should I replace my grip?
Replace an overgrip when it gets smooth or shiny, every few weeks for regular players. Replace the base grip when it is worn through; the PDS Cushion Replacement Grip fits all PDS paddles.
Do gift cards expire?
No. They can be used on anything, sale items included, across several orders. They can't be returned or exchanged for cash.
Do you ship the ball machine outside the US?
No, the PDS Feeder Mini ships to the US only.
